![]() ![]() It is clearer now than ever that this is a series that belongs in the past. With the important caveat that Terminator 2 is merely "almost as good" as The Terminator and I genuinely like Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, we know have a five-film franchise that has gotten worse each time out. ![]() It is less a movie than a full-length commercial for the potential of ongoing Terminator movies that use the concept of time travel to keep itself alive well past the point of expiration. Terminator Genisys is a film that spends much of its 125-minute running time straining to justify its existence and justify the extension of the brand. In terms of old-school SAT questions, Jurassic World is to The Avengers as Terminator Genisys is to Battleship. Unless overseas audiences are clamoring for a new Terminator film, this franchise may have no future. Kids won't care about the revival of that franchise they occasionally sampled on TNT or DVD and grownups probably can't justify the babysitter to relieve their movie going glory days. At a glance, Terminator Genisys feels like a franchise that was resurrected just because it could, regardless of whether it should have been. Schwarzenegger has been mostly DOA onscreen save for the surprisingly robust China performance of Escape Plan back in late 2013. But 2003 was a lifetime ago in movie going. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines earned $433m worldwide back in 2003, which is still among the larger-grossing R-rated movies of all time. Nonetheless, Schwarzenegger in the lead means a world of difference versus Terminator Salvation, or at least it might have in 2006. ![]() To be fair, you have to advertise the movie you get, so I imagine Paramount is having a bit more fun with Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation than they were able to with this one. With a laughably bad Entertainment Weekly photo shoot kicking things off to a second major trailer that gives away the film's biggest plot twist to stories about a cell phone game that you are supposed to play inside the theater at select IMAX screenings, this has not been a shining moment in tentpole marketing. The marketing campaign has been something of a disaster. Simmons, Jason Clarke, etc.) but are not remotely box office draws. Yes, there is obvious value among older moviegoers in seeing him return to a variation on its iconic character, but the rest of the cast is made up of people you may have heard of (Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, J.K. Schwarzenegger hasn't been a lead in a hit film since Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines back in 2003, and Eraser in 1996 before that. To be blunt, the film's box office prospects are uncertain. The film ignores and discards Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Terminator Salvation, to say nothing of the cult Fox television show The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Like a number of reboot/franchise revivals current and future, this one is a sequel not to all of the Terminator movies but only the ones that are considered "superior." This installment brings back Arnold Schwarzenegger as another protector robot from the future and operates as a quasi-sequel/reboot to The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. But the future is what we make of it, and the fate of this franchise appears a bit uncertain. It is an attempt to reignite the 31-year old Terminator franchise, and Paramount is outwardly optimistic since they have slotted a Terminator Genisys 2 for May 19th, 2017. and will be released in a dozen markets this weekend before dropping in America and elsewhere on July 1st and throughout the July 3rd weekend frame. It is distributed by Paramount/ Viacom Inc. Terminator Genisys comes courtesy of SkyDance Productions at a cost of $170 million. ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() However, in the film, it somehow is, and as you witness Amy spiral deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole, you'll only find yourself confused and unconvinced. Sure, they share some intimate details about their lives, and they have what can be described as virtual dates together, but none of it feels like it would be enough to get Amy to legitimately desire to join the terrorist organization. So how is Amy allowing herself to get sucked in? The answer, to me, was unclear. ![]() In their Skype conversations, Bilel tells Amy that he has killed dozens of people - he shares ISIS executions on his Facebook profile by all intents and purposes, Bilel is a psychopath. And as the movie continues and shows Amy show expressing sympathy toward her recruiter, Bilel, played by Shazad Latif, it simply doesn't feel natural. At no point did I genuinely believe that Valene's character, Amy, was genuinely falling for ISIS' recruiting tactics, or for her recruiter. The premise of a journalist starting to believe the insidious lies of a terrorist organization sounds incredibly riveting the trouble is, in order for the audience to be engaged, the movie has to feel believable - "Profile" does not. The biggest downfall of "Profile" is in it's promise - let's visit the IMDb synopsis again: An undercover British journalist infiltrates the online propaganda channels of the so-called Islamic State, only to be sucked in by her recruiter. And, in typical thriller fare, she decides that the best way to do this would be to pose as a new convert to Islam and get in touch with a real ISIS recruiter. "Profile" is about a journalist, played by the gorgeous Valene Kane, who decides that she wants to infiltrate the online propaganda channels of the so-called Islamic State (thank you IMDb for that spoiler-free synopsis!). ![]() I myself am a fan of this type of gimmick, so I was looking forward to this film, especially since it was foregoing supernatural horror and setting its anchor into more realistic ground. Here, Timur helms a story that unfolds in the same style as "Unfriended" or "Searching," in that the movie takes place entirely within a computer screen. "Profile" is the newest thriller by Timur Bekmambetov, director of "Wanted" and "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter." However, I think it goes without saying that "Profile" is completely unlike either of those films. ![]() ![]() ![]() This online game is part of the Arcade, Skill, Emulator, and SEGA gaming categories. Sonic the Hedgehog has long been one of gamings princes and the character and series have spawned multiple sequels, crossovers into. But there were some thing's I liked about the English dub: The theme song was pretty good, some of the voice acting was decent and most of the episode's were good because season's 1 and 2 were more like adaptations of, "Sonic Adventure 1 and 2" and "Sonic: Battle". Sonic 2 HD is an HD remake of the ever classic Sega Genesis/Megadrive game, Sonic 2. With the walls adorned with artwork from Sim titles down the years employees beaver away in their individual cubes, emerging only to chow down on a quality selection of food and beverages. How do you go about creating a sequel to the biggest-selling PC game franchise of all time? A game that has single-handedly bucked the demographic of PC gaming, embracing the casual player while alienating the hardcore? It's a tricky proposition, but there's little sign of panic at the Maxis office, half an hour outside San Francisco. The overall sound effects of the game are great and when a Sim talks, freaks out, gets embarrassed, or anything like that it always makes me smile. However, they have made it very easy to add your own music to the game if you want so that is always an option. I would not say that The Sims 2 has the greatest soundtrack I have ever listened too. The soundtrack is what you would expect from a game in this series. I do feel they could have done a bit more to make offspring look like they are related, but not at the expense of just all looking exactly the same. The only negative that I really have about the visuals is that sometimes the children and grandchildren can just look the same. Everything still has that same “Sim” look to it, but things are more detailed this time around and things also seem a bit larger which is something I liked. The visuals of the game are much improved from the first game. There is a ton of stuff you can use in this game to make your dream home, new scenarios, jobs, neighborhoods and there is just a ton of stuff to keep your Sims and the others that are around busy. At the time The Sims 2 was a game that improved on its predecessor and all of its expansion packs in pretty much every way you could imagine. While it has been surpassed why what would follow on from it. The “gameplay” is enhanced greatly from what the previous game offered. While it is not a groundbreaking feature now at the time this was a really big deal. What is really cool is that this game introduced a new system where Sims “genes” would be passed down so that they could have children and grandchildren. For example, Sims can now age and they go through a few different “ages” before they die. This game features some things that make the lives of The Sims feel more real, fulfilled, and just overall better. Instead The Sims 2 like what came before it has you create the story. One of the things that I always liked about this series was how most of the time there is not an actual “story” to play through. Well even though this game as I write this is well over a decade old, it holds up very well. ![]() The Sims 2 came out when I was in college and the girl I was dating at the time (now my wife) insisted that we got the game day one!
